The Lion King Rules the Weekend Box Office
Somewhat unsurprisingly, The Lion King reigned the domestic box office this past weekend. Somewhat more surprisingly, it made a whopping $185 million, which introduced the Disney flick &# x27; s world-wide take at over half a billion dollars. Most folks inferred it would get there eventually, but the facts of the case that Simba and fellowship have gotten to those digits so quickly is astounding–and it’s just going to keep racking up more.
Avengers: Endgame Just Beat Avatar
Speaking of box office domination, Disney &# x27; s Marvel is now the new all-time box office champion. Over the weekend, Avengers: Endgame became the highest-grossing movie ever, drumming the 10 -year reign of James Cameron &# x27; s Avatar to bring in nearly $2.8 billion worldwide.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Trailer
Let’s end on a non-Disney note, but one that’s just as wholesome: The new trailer for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood . In the film, Tom Hanks dallies Fred Rogers, aka Mr. Rogers, as he’s being profiled by a store scribe. In the movie, everyone sings or cries. You will be moved too.
